EL SEGUNDO, Calif.-(BUSINESS WIRE)-On Saturday, June 30, Hot Wheels strives for another world record with a gravity-defying, two-driver double vertical loop attempt at X Games Los Angeles 2012.

  • Team Hot Wheels drivers, Tanner Foust and Greg Tracy set a Guinness World Record racing two vehicles through a six-story double vertical loop at the 2012 X G.
  • At the 2012 X Games in Los Angeles on Saturday, June 30th, Team Hot Wheels professional drivers Tanner Foust and Greg Tracy made hot wheels come to life by driving two specially-designed, 3000lb cars through a six-story (66-foot tall) double vertical loop. At the needed 48-52mph, they each experienced up to 7gs of acceleration.

You don't get a Hot Wheels track to see successful stunts. Go back and try again

No skill involved. It's all just physics, calculated beforehand. Hit the ramp at the right speed and maintain acceleration throughout the loop and the job is done. All quite dull really.

#3 The two car's starts had to be staggered because the two loops joined together into one outlet. If they had been side-by-side they would have run into each other.

If the suspension was soft they wouldn't have a change going up the loop.
Notice the rigid suspension when the car bounces at the end
Awesome!

Since nobody said it yet..i have to say..its is some kind of 'fake'.. the cars run on some sort of railroad tracks..the drivers only had to push the throttle. Seen a report about this on tv a few days ago.
#9 Spammer got hit by Ban Hammer =)

#12 Are you sure about that? Because i did see the topgear loop. And that was the real deal. Or was it. I have to agree that the cars in the video seem to go to slow.

This isn't fake. there is no railroad track. The black line is to indicate they are in the middle of the track

if that second car had gone a tiny bit slower he wouldn't have made it over that jump at the end

I've actually met and had lunch with Greg Tracy, and he wouldn't do this if it were fake. He's the real deal. Winner of Baja 1000, Erzberg, Pikes Peak Hill Climb... not a fake. They even had nets at the top during practice to catch the drivers if they fell!
But, it's a bit anticlimactic just the same.
